PEITAC Incorporated:
Port Elliot Information Technology Access Centre Inc. is a volunteer organisation.Its purpose is to encourage volunteer participation in the aims of the Centre.
Those aims being to:
- Foster a community development approach to information technology
- Enhance skills and inclusion in the information economy
- Provide information technology access and education to the local community

Education: Courses to Consider:
- Beginning Computing (PC)
- Basic Word Processing (PC)
- Beyond the Basics in Word (PC)
- Internet - Email and the World Wide Web
- Greetings Cards - producing your own
- Business Recording - Quickbooks, E-records, MYOB
- Macintosh Computing - any of the PC courses, but on a MAC
** Courses for the unemployed are run with an Adult Education Community grant.
Workshops:
- Using a scanner
- Using a digital camera
- Creating a Web page
Enrollment forms are available from PEITAC Wednesdays & Saturdays 10-12 noon or contact Avis Miller Ph. 8554 2498.
Community access: the public can attend the Centre from 10 am to 12 noon on Wednesdays and Saturdays and are able to use the Internet facilities (including email) and for personal experience with computing.
Remarks:
- The Centre has 7 PC's for Internet & E-mail access, plus 6 Apple MAC computers for general use.
- After School Computer Access (ASCA) is available on Mondays & Wednesdays from 3.40pm - 5.00pm - this is for children who do not have access to a computer at home.
- Networks For You is a free community program to give you one-on-one
teaching for skills with the Internet. Access is available for
the disabled.
PEITEC ASCA children with their end of year certificates.
