Toshiba were one of the first manufactures to produce a successful world market for Laptops (back in 1985). This list of Toshiba Laptop units have been well researched for proven performance and support. Toshiba currently offer both Windows XP and Windows Vista as the supplied operating system (on all the listed models show here).
Toshiba have a good Australian backup of spare parts and support. I have bench tested most Toshiba Laptop model's produced, and have found such units to have a performance and stability exceeding other 'non-Intel' based laptops.

Note: Using Windows Vista for the above Toshiba Systems:
All the above machines run and support Windows Vista Windows Vista Business Edition! It is the same cost for you to have Windows Vista Business Edition supplied on either of the above laptops. If you plan to use VISTA, I highly recommend that you get the upgrade to at least 2Gb of memory. Vista loves and needs memory (2Gb+ is highly recommended for VISTA)!
